Joseph Tkach Jr. was the son of Joseph Tkach Sr., who was the founder of the Worldwide Church of God. He grew up in the church and later became its leader after his father's death in 1995. Under Joseph Tkach Jr.'s leadership, the Worldwide Church of God underwent significant changes, including moving away from its legalistic and exclusive teachings and adopting more mainstream Christian beliefs. This transition led to some members leaving the church, but it also helped the church grow and become more widely accepted in the Christian community. Joseph Tkach Jr. served as the president of the Worldwide Church of God until his death in 1995.
